ENTERPRISE ENERGY MANAGEMENT & CONTROL SYSTEM

A world leading pharmaceutical manufacturer required an energy management and control system for its plant at Newbridge, Ireland. The following functions were required of the plant wide system:

• Energy monitoring for water, air, gas, electricity and steam (WAGES).
• Energy management and control for financial, accounting and production managers together with automatic reporting, analysis, budgeting and costing for all energy usage.
• Advanced power quality monitoring at key locations within the plant.
• Automatic generator load control for emergency and critical situations.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Premium Power Ltd. (www.premiumpower.ie) was chosen to design, supply, integrate and project manage the system which comprised a large network of advance ION® meters and loggers manufactured by PMC, Schneider Electric (www.schneider-electric.com) connected through a communications infrastructure to a central server. ION Enterprise and energy management software were programmed and integrated by Premium Power to provide all of the functionality required by the company.

CUSTOMISED SOLUTION

Web based energy management software was designed and installed to allow the creation of automatic utility reports for the production managers and, to allow financial managers to analyse consumption and budget for future costs.

WEB ENABLED SYSTEM

The entire system is Web enabled allowing managers in any part of the plant to access the system using their web browsers. Automatic alarms and reports allow the company to have the most advanced energy reporting, costing and control available in any facility worldwide.
